A project that started with a single ride
MotoTigo didn't come out of a boardroom or market research. It exists because I needed something like it on the road myself — and figured it might be useful to more people than just me.
A personal project
Right after setting off, I'd catch myself on the same thing every time: is the route right, will the place still be open when I get there, where do I pick up the thing I forgot to pack. And the last thing I wanted was to pull over and dig through my phone.
I built MotoTigo for myself, really. A handful of simple voice commands handle most of what you'd do on your phone on the road — without taking your hands off the bars or your eyes off the road. And when I need more, I just say “Turn on Maya” and ask.
I've been in software and cross-system integration long enough that at some point I only thought: why didn't I come up with this sooner. I test the app hard, on my own rides — and I keep building it.
